Mice

On the initial treatment, a Critter Ridders Technician will inspect your home or business to help determine where the mice may be entering. Interior locked bait boxes will be placed in areas where the problems are occurring. After the initial treatment, we ask you to wait at least two weeks to give the products we use time to work. If you continue to have evidence of mice, we will come back as many times as needed to resolve the problem.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • How do I know if I have a rodent problem?

    • sightings of mice or rats inside
    • droppings
    • sounds in wall during the night
    • damage to food containers or residence
    • urine smell
  • Are mice & rats hazardous to humans?

Yes. Mice & rats can place your family or employees at risk if left untreated. They can contaminate food with their droppings and urine. They reproduce quickly and can spread diseases such as salmonella, leptospirosis, and hantavirus. They are also hosts for parasites such as ticks, fleas, and mites that can also carry diseases.

  • What can I do to prevent a mouse infestation?

To prevent an infestation, all slots, or openings to the outside of the building need to be sealed off. Keep in mind that mice can fit through a 1/4 inch opening, the size of a pen cap. If this is something you cannot do yourself, we suggest contacting a contractor to assist.

  • What is the difference between mice & rats?

The most obvious difference between mice & rats is their size. Rats tend to be larger in size than mice. Mice have large, floppy ears and long, thin, hairy tails, whereas rats have small ears and long, hairless, scaly tails.

  • Is it safe for my dogs and cats?

For mice, we use Final All-Weather Blox and Generation Mini Blocks poison in locked bait stations, inaccessible to pets.
