Wasps, yellow jackets, & hornets in and around your home or business can threaten the safety and comfort of your family and employees. Critter Ridders GUARANTEES that your wasp, yellow jacket, or hornet’s nest will be killed. If the nest is still active after 5 days, then we will return to retreat at no additional cost. 95% of nests require only one visit.

Details about Service:

  • This service is not always an instant kill. YOU MAY STILL SEE wasps, yellow jackets, or hornets going into the nest after treatment. These are the worker bees that were out gathering food and are now returning to their home. We want them to come into contact with the material used- in order to kill them off.

  • This service DOES NOT include nest removal. Once the nest is completely dead (no activity for 2-3 weeks) then the nest can be removed.

  • If you can see a stain on the wall or ceiling inside your home or business, and/or can hear them, then our Technician may need to drill a few small holes to treat the whole nest.

  • In some cases, our Technicians may need to use an Actisol machine to treat the nest. An Actisol machine is a type of sprayer that uses a high volume of air to distribute insecticide into the void space where the nest is located.

  • Do I need to be home?

    • If wasps, yellow jackets, or hornets are going in and out of a hole on a man-made structure then someone must be home.
    • If you can see the paper of the nest on the outside of a structure, in a bush/tree, or in the ground, then no one needs to be home as long as we have an accurate description of where the nest is located.

    * A credit card must be put on file for payment if no one will be home. Cards will not be run until after service is complete.

  • Do you remove the nest?

    No, we cannot remove an active nest. If an active nest is removed, then the ones not in the nest at the time of treatment will start to rebuild their nest where it once was. Once the nest is completely dead, it can be removed.

  • How can I prevent this in the future?

    Critter Ridders recommends getting one of our Spring Prevention Services. Our Bee Prevention Service helps prevent bees, wasps, yellow jackets, hornets, and carpenter bees from building nests on your home or business. Spring Prevention Services are usually done from mid-April until the end of July. Our Technicians will treat any potential nesting sites including overhangs, shutters, decks, and sheds to prevent new nests from being built. Our preventions help deter these flying insects from building on the structure of your home or business.

    Unfortunately, we cannot prevent nests from being built in bushes and trees, or in the ground.
